Deposits in CareConnection are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for up to $100,000 (up to $250,000 for Individual Retirement Accounts).

In October 1990, UniHealth Federal Credit Union was formed after the merger between Lutheran Hospital Society and Health West.

In October 1998, The merger between UniHealth America and Catholic Healthcare West left the credit union without a sponsor and became an independent entity under the name of CareConnections Federal Credit Union.
